Quercus canariensis (Algerian Oak)
Quercus canariensis (Algerian Oak)

The striking leaves on this tree are large and shallowly lobed with a shiny green upper and glaucous underside. The trunk is dark grey and deeply fissured as the tree matures. Seed-grown from a fantastic mature specimen at the nursery which holds its leaves most of the winter. There is likely to be a degree of hybridisation with common oaks but the trees we are offering look like the parent and will likely inherit its characteristics. A fast-growing tree on both clay and chalk soils.
